Social Circle App
Private sharing with the people who matter most
Social Circle is a privacy-focused app for sharing posts and introductions with the people you actually know. Instead of followers and public timelines, Social Circle uses rings and introductions so you stay in control of who can see what.
What makes Social Circle different?
- Rings instead of “friends” or public feeds – share to Ring 1, Ring 2, Ring 3, groups, or specific people.
- Introduction-based connections – connect through self-introductions or mutual contacts, not random requests.
- Expiring content – every post has an expiration date, from one day up to one year (or “never”).
- On-device identity – your cryptographic keys stay on your device; the relay server only sees public keys and content it needs to pass along.
How this manual is organized
Each section of the manual focuses on one part of the app:
- Onboarding – first-time setup, creating a handle, and identity basics.
- Introducing Yourself – self-intro QR codes and sharing your identity safely.
- Introducing Others – how intro cards work and how to connect two other people.
- Contacts & Groups – organizing people into rings and custom groups.
- Creating Content – the composer, attachments, and expiration options.
- Ring 3 Content – follower-style sharing and Ring 3 link behavior.
- Settings – sync, subscriptions, safety thresholds, and notifications.
Supported platforms
Social Circle is currently available for iOS and iPadOS. A companion Android app and other platforms may be added in the future. All versions use the same relay server design and ring/intro model.
