Rings

Every contact belongs to exactly one ring:

• Ring 1 – closest contacts; usually allowed to introduce you.
• Ring 2 – regular contacts; may be allowed to introduce you depending on your settings.
• Ring 3 – follower-style access; can see certain public posts but cannot introduce you.

Groups

Groups are custom collections of contacts used for targeted sharing. You might create groups like Family, Work, or Trip Planning.

• Create and edit groups from the Groups section in the app.
• Add or remove contacts from a group at any time.
• When composing a post, you can choose a group or groups as the audience.

Editing and removing contacts

From the Contacts tab you can:

• Change the ring for a contact.
• Edit their display name (for your own clarity), while their public key remains the true identity.
• Remove a contact entirely; this doesn’t affect their copy of past content already received.
