1. First launch
When you open Social Circle for the first time, you’ll see a short setup flow. This includes:
- Accepting the End User License Agreement.
- Choosing a handle (your public display name).
- Creating your identity key pair on the device.
Your private key never leaves your device. The app may offer an optional encrypted backup or export in later versions.
2. Permissions
iOS will prompt for permissions as they are needed:
- Camera – required to scan QR codes for introductions and optional photo capture when posting.
- Photos – used to select existing photos as attachments.
- Notifications – used for daily reminders, content expiry alerts, and subscription notices (if enabled in Settings).
You can always change these later under Settings → Social Circle.
3. Completing onboarding
After you finish setup, you’ll land on the Posts tab, which is initially empty. From there you can:
- Tap the “New intro” tab to generate your self-introduction QR code.
- Use the Contacts tab to manage people once you’ve connected.
- Tap the + button on the Posts tab to compose your first post.
