Your self-introduction QR
The New intro tab shows a QR code that encodes your public key and handle. This is your primary way to safely introduce yourself:
- Show your QR to another person using Social Circle.
- They scan it from their app and decide whether to accept.
- If they accept, you are added to each other’s contacts, usually in Ring 1 or Ring 2.
Biometric confirmation
On some devices and configurations Social Circle may require Face ID or Touch ID before showing your self-introduction QR or accepting an identity on a new device. This prevents someone else from adding contacts in your name without permission.
Using links for Ring 3
For broad sharing to Ring 3, Social Circle can generate a share link that encodes a public, follower-style introduction. This lets people follow your public posts without being in your closer rings. See Ring 3 Content for more details.
